This Cinnamon Orange Hot Toddy warms you to your bones and puts you in your cuddle mode with a pillow, blanket, a good book and a log on the fire. Whether you are looking for comfort from your nasty cold, or just trying to get warm on a bitter cold night, this will do the trick! Often, these are looked at as helping to cure your illness, but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I think you forget about how bad you feel as you relax and thus begins the healing process with perhaps some restful slumber.
Orange and cinnamon compliment each other well. As a bottle of Fireball stalked me from its cabinet, I began to deliberate upon its possible uses. It’s always great added to some “adult” hot chocolate once the kids are in bed. You don’t want little observers taking notes about how to make theirs. Then, with the hubby walking around sneezing and feeling miserable from the cold I’m sure I passed onto him, inspiration hit. I have a few Cara Cara oranges remaining in the fridge.
Available usually around December, Cara Caras are absolutely fabulous in taste! These seedless oranges are sweet and a little less acidic. You can see above their coloring is a little more reddish than a regular orange. Keeping them in the refrigerator will extend their life so you can enjoy them section by section, sucking up every bit of the sweet juice! On second thought, you may want to hide them in your fridge so you have your own little stash to enjoy after your yoga workout. Just kidding! I like to share good things!
Now, excuse me while I go take care of my man with a little extra squeeze of vitamin C…. Love him!
