Strawberry Citrus Syrup topped my Hawaiian French Toast with a taste of class! The hint of orange made this sauce memorable! If you are planning a brunch with friends or family, this combination would be perfect! Top it off by serving mimosas on the side. Perfection! Below, you see the dusting of confectioner’s sugar, a small scoop of softened butter slowly melting and the syrup drizzled from end to end.
The recipe is simple! I had frozen strawberries in the freezer from my picking in May, so I thought if we’re not putting them in a smoothie, my original intent , let’s make some syrup! That gives me another thought. I could do the same thing with the blueberries I picked last summer in the freezer but substitute lemon juice and lemon zest where the orange is in this recipe. I’ve got to make more Hawaiian French Toast and try that one out next! Either way, one bite at a time will be a mouthful of delight and intrigue. What Is that flavor sneaking between the strawberries? It’s the orange, of course!
