Years ago, I came across a Southern Living recipe for BBQ Chicken Thighs with White BBQ Sauce. It has been a recipe we always come back to time and time again. Drizzle this over your chicken and you’ll see why it’s a southern favorite. There are many recipe versions of this mayo-based sauce out there, but this is perfection!
Although I tweaked it a bit from the original in this post, it’s still fabulous! Without spicy brown mustard in the refrigerator, I opted for Dijon as the replacement. It called for 1 1/2 teaspoons of spicy brown, but I used a tablespoon of Dijon….I love Dijon…. Smoked paprika was added for a little more hint of BBQ flavor. This is one of my favorite spices! Instead of 1 garlic clove, I used two. Garlic is good for you, so why not throw another in there? Certainly, you could make this your own as I did, or keep it as it was originally intended. Adjust it back to the original recipe from what’s listed below by referencing the above notations.
Whisk it well and refrigerate until ready to use.
Drizzle this over your Grilled BBQ Chicken Thighs or use it as a dip for your Old Bay Fries. If there’s any chicken leftover, Slice it up and place it on a salad with this White BBQ Sauce as a dressing. It’s kind of a Chicken Caesar salad, summer version.
