Apple Cider French Toast is a wonderful fall treat for breakfast! Just look at those Warm Spiced Apples on top. No need for syrup here! Those flavors of fall are warm and inviting and such a wonderful seasonal delight to add to your breakfast/brunch menu of favorites. Whether it would be for just family or a treat for special visitors, it will be memorable.
We recently had a Jewish deli open up at the local airport which made it so easy to purchase some fresh Challah(silent “c”) bread. It’s a small airport and was buzzing with customer activity when I dropped by around noon. They have other locations further away and I was sooooo excited when I learned of their expansion closer to me! Yeah! Slice the bread into slices about 3/4″ – 1″ thick. The wider pieces would be best to halve as shown in pictures below. If you don’t have access to any Challah bread, you could try some brioche or Hawaiian sweet bread as a substitute.
The directions indicate to whisk the spices with the sugar. This help to better disperse the spices within the mixture. Dip both sides in and place onto the prepared griddle or cooking surface. Flip over once griddle side is golden.
Oh, YUM!! I can’t wait to taste these. They smell scrumptious!
Now, I went an extra step here and made some Warm Spiced Apples to top them. A little dollop of whipped cream would have been a perfect topper, but I was out. 🙁 However, this is much better than syrup; they will definitely compliment the flavor of the Apple Cider French Toast.
