Grilled Citrus Ginger Salmon has become one of our new grilling favorites! We’ve always incorporated salmon in our grilling rotation. Done simply, it’s always been a hit. Just embellish with a salad on the side or your favorite seasonal vegetables. There have been times when we’ve grilled and chilled it to use on a salad, but this marinade on salmon is perfection! Considering salmon is a healthy source of fat, try incorporating it in your weekly routine in some creative way! The unsaturated fat source in salmon can actually help increase your good cholesterol (HDL), so why not give it a try?
The marinade’s ingredient list is a great combination of flavors which compliment salmon. Perhaps it’s the orange-ginger combination which adds to its bright, enticing flavor along with the other ingredients. Just whisk them together well and that part is done! That “hard work” is now complete.
Rinse off and pat dry your salmon. Brush olive oil on each side then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place them in a large Ziploc bag and pour about half of the marinade over them. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat your grill to HIGH for about 10 minutes. Place salmon on a grill mat and close the lid. Turn over in about 5 minutes and brush/pour rest of marinade over the tops and continue to cook until done, about another 5 minutes. Time may vary, depending on their thickness. Check the second picture below to see it finishing while basking in the rest of the marinade that had been drizzled on top. The reusable grill mat I bought my personal grillmaster for Father’s Day helps to make this possible.
Now, your serving options are many, but let’s admire the final product first.
Serve with some brown rice, and asparagus or a simple salad on the side.
Or top a veggie filled salad with a filet of Grilled Citrus Ginger Salmon and some Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette for a complete meal in a bowl There are some shredded Cosmic purple carrots in the salad which I bought at the farmer’s market this week. They are purple on the outside, but orange on the inside! If you look closely ,you can see the purple!
