Ingredients

  • 1 T extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 t freshly grated ginger root
  • 1 t pressed/finely minced garlic cloves
  • 2 T honey
  • 3 T low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 T orange juice
  • 1 t sesame oil
  • 1/4 t red pepper flakes
  • 4- 4-5 oz salmon filets

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients thoroughly with a whisk.
  • Rinse and pat dry filets. Lightly brush some olive oil on each filet, top and bottom. Lightly salt and pepper both sides. Place filets in a Ziploc bag and pour half of mixture over them. Seal bag and allow them to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes
  • Preheat grill on HIGH for about 10 minutes.
  • Place filets on grill mat and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, brush/pour the remaining marinade over the second side for the last 5 minutes of cooking Remove from the grill for serving.
  • If the weather is a factor and you have to cook indoors, you could bake them in the oven at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. Baste a couple of times throughout that time period.
